Style Inspiration-Linda Rodin

I have a new style inspiration and her name is Linda Rodin.

For all you women that think you have to think, look, and act a certain way just because you’re a little older, Linda is proof-positive you can be super cool at any age. Now in her sixties, she is one of the most stylish and cool women around.

Linda modeled briefly in her twenties, but really hit her stride as a stylist for Henri Bendel and then as a fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar. She now works as a freelance stylist (one of the best) and is a major skincare guru. She created her world known Olio Lusso facial oil in her bathroom because she was disillusioned with the skincare products on the market. The Rodin brand is expanding and has a cult following. She only uses her products on her face (with the exception of her signature lipstick), has never colored her hair (which turned grey in her thirties), and believes simple is better.

I can only hope to look as chic and stylish as Linda when I’m in my sixties…I really want to be her when I grow up:)

Girly Stocking Stuffers

My iPhone cover recently broke and I searched for awhile to find a suitable replacement. One day I wandered into the newly open Henri Bendel store in the Mall of America and entered into a world of girly goodness. Not only did I find a new cover (and my all-time favorite candles) but I was enchanted by the wonderfully fashionable accessories that grace their shelves.
A little history. Henri Bendel was a fearless innovator, a leading arbiter of women’s fashion, and a passionate explorer of the “New and the Next”. Many well known brands got their start in Bendel stores, including MAC cosmetics (it’s where I purchased the very first Viva Glam lipstick). It is the ideal store to find adorable accessories and I have chosen some of my favorites that would make the ultimate stocking stuffers.

For Always Tote $498
Okay, so maybe the price tag is more like a big gift than a stocking stuffer, but this is my dream tote. The red leather is scrumptious, the satin lining divine, and the cell phone and PDA pockets necessary. This tote comes in three colors and will hold all a girls needs.

Cityscape iPhone Cover $38
This was my purchase (I think it fits me very well). They have many different designs to choose from and are super fun for the fashionista in your life.

Bendel Wellie Keyfob $48
How fun is this! Keyfobs are a great stuffer and makes every girl feel a little more glamorous.

2012 Deck the Halls Snow-globe $68
Snow-globes are a holiday decor must and this one is so chic. Start your collection now and add to it every year. A wonderful tradition!

20121204-131735.jpg 2012 Strut Your Stuff Desk Diary $98
The perfect organizer for the gal who prefers paper to electronic (like me). She’ll definitely be more efficient with this beauty in her bag.

Choose Me Mug $25
This would go so well with my new Keurig! Ideal for the coffee lover in your life.

Holiday Signature Candle $30
I’ve written before about my love for the Bendel candles and this one captures the scent of the holiday perfectly! Be sure to check out all their aromas-they are divine!!

If you live near a Henri Bendel store, I highly recommend you stop by this holiday season. You’ll be sure to find many wonderful gift ideas for all the ladies in your life.

Lovely Candles

Don’t you just hate it when a store stops carrying a product you love? Unfortunately, it seems to happen more and more. My mother-in-law always brought me a specific candle as a hostess gift every Thanksgiving. I loved everything about this candle-the smell, the frosted glass jar, the packaging, the warm glow it gave…everything. Then, they suddenly disappeared from a certain chain and this made me very sad.
The candle in question is Henri Bendel’s Vanilla Bean. The scent is amazing, the candle very long lasting. Our entire house would fill this luxurious aroma and just felt warmer. Lucky for me, Henri Bendel still carries their home scent on-line so I can order it. There are many other yummy scents (I’m anxious to try their Peony-one of my favorite flowers) and candle accessories as well. They aren’t cheap, but the quality makes it well worth the money spent. If you love candles, try these. You won’t be disappointed.
