What’s Inspiring Me Today

I’ve been catching up on Pinterest this morning and have found some fabulous inspiration. That’s the thing I love about this sight-you’re constantly finding new and amazing ideas. Here are a few of my favorite images this moment.

Everything about this look is perfection. It’s simple yet chic, and she’s adorable.

Accessories rule in this look. From her simple earrings to the giant bag, this girl knows it’s important to add finishing touches. Even her watch and cocktail ring are important elements. And of course, I adore the topknot.

Men’s shirt, patterned tights, and men’s inspired footwear-the Olsen’s can do no wrong!

Where do I start? I am desperately trying to find a stack heeled shoe like this. The texture and the bow add interest and glamour.

Nothing is more comfortable than a vintage tee. They are almost like a second skin and can be quite sexy!

Picture perfect. I’m not wishing for winter, but if I lived here it might be more bearable.

Stunning! The colors, the silhouette, and the details are fantastic.

Vintage Birkins. Can I please just have one?

This image inspired me to do a post today!! I really dig her curly hair and caftan-esque dress.

I have to wear all black to work now and I really love this combination. I don’t think I could run miles around my store all day in those shoes tho!

Vintage gown circa 1950’s. There was something quite magical about the dresses from that era.

I’d never get out of bed. So whimsical and fairy-like.

I’m always on the hunt for bathroom ideas. The grey subway tile is elegant yet industrial.

No matter what you’re looking for, you can find it on Pinterest. If you’re not already pinning, I suggest you hop to it!!

Fall Into The Gap

The Gap has previewed their Fall 2012 collection and it’s super. They are finally returning to what they do best-cool, classic, style. The line features must-have basics like tailored wool blazers in rich autumnal hues, embellished sweaters, and classic khakis and denim (but with a cool, modern twist). They are plenty of statement pieces along with adorable accessories like cozy scarves, wedge sandals, and colored ballet flats. It’s refreshing to see The Gap revisiting their roots. Here’s a peak at the looks I love the most.

Stripes and boyfriend jeans are still on trend so don’t get rid of them yet!

It’s been a long time since I’ve worn a turtleneck under a woven, but I find it somewhat inspiring.

The structured work shirt is made feminine with polka dot capris.

Shirt dresses are huge for fall and the white is just so classic and crisp.

Love this look! Cardigan with elbow patches, a classic sweatshirt, and baggy jeans are a super comfy emsemble.

Denim dress with skinny black denim can look very sophisticated when you pair it with the right accessories.

Wearing a turtleneck under a sweater puts me right back to high school! Paired with boyfriend denim you have the perfect weekend look.

The right jacket can class up any outfit and this khaki one has a super fun silhouette.

This is a modern twist on 80’s preppy girl. I adore cords and paired with a colorful blazer they scream fall.

Wearing a sweatshirt doesn’t have to make you look frumpy. Paired with a fitted jacket and cords gives you a wonderful silhouette.

It’s okay to take risks with color and pattern. The scarf is a surprising choice with this striped sweater, but it works!

I’m certainly not wishing away summer (it is my favorite time of year), but it’s nice to know fabulous fall fashion will be waiting for me when the leaves start to turn.

The Webster Comes To Target

Today Target launches it’s latest retail concept, “The Shops at Target”. This new concept features limited-edition collections from popular boutiques across the United States (including one of my favorite beauty stores, The Cos Bar). On the fashion front, Target has partnered with the upscale Miami boutique, The Webster. Co-designed by The Webster owner Laurie Heriard Dubreuil and Target, this collection is made up of amazing pieces that have that South Beach vibe. Tropical-printed dresses, short suits, and accessories are just the beginning. There are party and work appropriate sheaths, swimwear, wedges, and beach totes, as well as pajamas, hats, and many other goodies. While I don’t have exact pricing for each item, I can tell you that the line ranges from $8-$50. Not bad for fabulous items that have major summer appeal.

Marvelous maxis, just what every gal needs for summer.

Shorts for work or play. The color is yummy and I adore the fact that the legs have more fitted opening. Super cute!

The swimwear screams Miami and the cardigan channels Jackie O. (as do the sunnies).

Dresses are a huge part of the collection. They feature many fabulous prints and the silhouettes should work on almost every body type. Add some stellar accessories and you’re ready for anything summer throws at you.

A great beachy look or perfect for lounging at home on a hot summer night.

Pretty and lightweight robe and chemise are essential for warm weather nights and mornings. Or you can go for a shorts option. Either way, you’ll be super sexy.

Tribal bangles have a tropical feel and every girl needs a floppy sun hat to protect her face. Patterned handbags and killer wedges add that little extra something to every ensemble.

Remember, the collection launches today and we all know how quickly the specialty items sell out at Target! For more information and pricing, please visit Target. I suggest you hurry!

Parisian Chic At Ann Taylor

I have to tell you, I am dying over Ann Taylor’s fall 2012 collection. When I saw the photos I was absolutely gobsmacked! Where did this come from? Have I been missing out on fabulous pieces? I admit, I have not been in Ann Taylor for years. It’s always felt very business lady to me, but not anymore. Inspired by head designer Lisa Axelson’s trip to Paris, this collection screams parisian cool girl. Featuring animal prints, pencil skirts, boxy gamine peacoats, cropped fur jackets and capes, and amazing accessories, there really isn’t one piece I don’t want. And don’t even get me started on the black and white wedding collection. I just hope someone gets married so I have a reason to buy one of the glamorous party dresses. Here is a sneak peak, featuring my favorite items.

Love this dress. The silhouette is perfection!

Tweeds with lace is so sexy!

The details, like the back bow, are really what makes each piece special.

The flare on the bottom of the skirt turns it from corporate to playful.

The cut and color of this coat is amazing.

Swing coats are always a very good thing.

A longer sleeved shift dress-perfect for fall and winter events.

Hello Paris!

With heels or boots, this dress is a must-have for me.

Super cool girl, not working girl. Ann has got some edge!

Where do I even start? This is a Megan outfit personified.

Each look is styled so well. The accessories are stunning.

The satin cuffs, the bracelets, the color…

I love that they’ve done a thicker heel.

One of the many shoe tables. One of everything please!

A winter wedding, a fabulous dress.

There are no words…

And just the right accessories…

A stunning little black dress that works all year long.

For work or special occasion (I adore the bow)

A view of the wedding collection.

All pieces will be available Fall 2012 at Ann Taylor

So, are you as blown away as I am? I cannot wait for fall. Ann Taylor has truly become a fashion force to be reckoned with.

Fun Fashion Apps

I’ve been battling a cold/flu the past couple of days so I’ve spent a lot of time searching apps for my iPhone/ iPad. There are so many cool tools available to make shopping and dressing fun and effortless. Two in particular caught my eye and I downloaded them immediately. Now I am completely obsessed and find myself spending way too much time playing.

Shopstyle Mobile is fantastic. It is like the ultimate search engine for all things related to shopping. This app brings together over 500 ecommerce sites offering clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty. It’s a huge variety of stores (American Eagle to Chanel) all at your fingertips. You can add favorites, get sale alerts, post to facebook and twitter, or share via email. You can search by brand or store, or refine by style and price. A must have app for anyone who loves to shop online.

Stylebook is another super cool app. You can import pictures of your actual clothing and accessories and create looks and collages that will help make dressing a snap. There’s a calendar so you can track when you wear items so you don’t repeat too often and a packing icon which is a big help when planning your travel (it’s always so hard to know what to pack). You can also add inspiration and share your looks via facebook, twitter, tumblr, or email.

This a my first attempt at a collage. I actually used both apps. I got the pieces from shopstyle, added them to my closet in stylebook and created this “day” look. It’s so fun!!!

Both apps are available from the apple app store. I believe they were both free, but for sure under $5.00. My head is kind of in a fog today!!!

Mad Men at Banana Republic

Banana Republic unveiled a sneak peak of their new Mad Men Collection and it is stunning. If you’re a fan of the AMC hit, you’re going to want to check it out. This grouping consists of 40 pieces such as white lace tops, short-sleeve floral sheaths, pink capri pants, party dresses, and accessories. The line was created by Mad Men’s costume designer Janie Bryant who has done a phenomenal job of keeping with the aesthetic of the 1960’s era. The collection will debut on March 1st and while I don’t have any pricing information, it’s still too good not to share.

The details on the clutch are divine and the pink of the dress is gorgeous.

I love the floral pattern and the bracelets are just chunky enough.

This is a great silhouette and the neckline is fabulous. The belt is an adorable polka dot and the bow is a great touch.

Total 1960’s vibe. I remember my grandfather wearing shirts like that.

I think the color palette is very sophisticated and the look is styled to perfection.

This look screams convertible car. While I normally shy away from color, these pink capris are so playful and the white lace top can be worn many different ways.

I’ve tried on several different options from Banana’s other Mad Men collections and I can tell you that the fit is wonderful. The quality and fabric choices are also top notch. For more information, please visit Banana Republic
