H&M Does Lisbeth Salander

Like most of the world, I am a huge fan of Stieg Larsson’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” trilogy. The books were riveting-I could not put them down! I watched all three of the Swedish movies through Netflix (even with the subtitles, the movies were amazing) and am really excited for the American version to premiere next month. Lisbeth Salander is the girl I kind of wish I could be-tough, edgy, and really bad-ass. Her style is uniquely her own-she’s not out to impress anyone-yet she does make an impression. Now everyone will be able to emulate her style when H&M launches their collection inspired by Lisbeth.
H&M collaborated with Trish Summerville (costume designer for American version) on a line that is very urban and very edgy. It will consist of 30 pieces, which will include leather jackets and pants, ripped denim, hoodies, and some very cool accessories.

The color palette consists of very deep and dark colors. Lots of black and grey with deep reds thrown in. Worn all together, it may be too edgy for most, but the pieces themselves are all super cool and can easily work with items already in your closet. One statement piece is all you need for the “wow” factor. I love leather pants paired with a girly top. Don’t be afraid to play around!

I really dig the look on the far right. Love me a good snood!

The collection will be for sale in 180 H&M stores and on-line December 14th. I’d call your local H&M to find out if they will be one of those stores-I know this collection will go fast!

Be sure to check out the movie, opening nationwide December 21st!
