Style Inspiration-Rose Byrne

I’ve been a fan of Rose Byrne’s for quite some time. I love her on “Damages”! She does drama very well, but she did show a funnier side in “Bridesmaids”. But she really caught my attention during awards season this past year. This Australian beauty proved beyond a shadow of a doubt she knows fashion and isn’t afraid to take risks. The sleek bob, perfect makeup, and sequined pantsuit blew me away. And this is why she’s my inspiration today.

20120511-103250.jpg
Simply stunning. It’s a risk to do a pant suit, but man did she pull it off.

20120511-103338.jpg
Another winner at the Oscars. Perfection!

20120511-103426.jpg
Lovely in Chanel. When wearing a bob like this, it’s important that the hair is shiny.

20120511-103509.jpg
This lady really likes the sequins. I really like the different textures in this ensemble.

20120511-103601.jpg
Not too many people can pull off bottoms like this, but she makes it work.

20120511-103650.jpg
Casual and chic in denim.

20120511-103729.jpg
The perfect side ponytail. It has just the right amount of oomph.

20120511-103814.jpg
At the airport in plaid. She really loves the skinny denim.

20120511-103854.jpg
An interesting combination. I really dig the shoes.

20120511-103937.jpg
Sporting the polka dot trend, which I adore.

20120511-104016.jpg
Perfect outfit for running around town. The classic sweater around the shoulders is a nice touch.

20120511-104121.jpg
Her many looks on “Damages”. The wardrobe and makeup department do a fantastic job.

Style Inspiration-Mila Kunis

In my opinion, Mila Kunis is one of the most beautiful girls in all of Hollywood. Her smile is infectious, her style is both glamorous and comfortable. This talented actress is only beginning to shine. Now the face of Dior, Mila is definitely having her moment.

Absolutely stunning on the red carpet

Love this look. The denim, the boots, the sweater, and the cross-body bag all make this casual outfit look put together and effortless.

20120323-121300.jpg
Lady in red. I really love the tulle!

20120323-121347.jpg
Even on a gym run, there’s no hiding the fact that she is a natural beauty.

Basic pieces can make the perfect “errand” outfit.

20120323-121610.jpg
At Fashion Week. And this is why she’s the face of Dior. Fantastic!

20120323-121714.jpg
Rockin’ a white suit. This is exactly why she’s this week’s style inspiration.

20120323-121814.jpg
This outfit is fresh and young. The basic black top paired with a skirt that has sparkle and pattern really suits her, and I love the neutral platform heel.

This is one of my typical weekend looks. She makes cargos and tank super sexy.

20120323-122127.jpg
Hello pretty! Her face (especially the eyes) is absolute perfection.

I am so excited to see what’s next for Mila. She is a joy to watch on screen.

The Best Of The SAG Awards

The SAG Awards were Sunday night and the stars were out in full-force. I think this is my favorite awards show. Firstly, it’s only two hours. Secondly, there is no host, and thirdly, it’s just to honor actors. It seems more fast-paced and laid back, and that makes for much more enjoyable viewing. The ladies of the red carpet looked amazing (of course) and I had a lot of favorites. In my opinion, this show had the ladies looking better than ever!

20120130-123024.jpg
Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mishka gown with Dena Kemp Palladium diamond bubble ring. She really looks great, and this dress really shows off the figure she’s worked so hard for.

20120130-123148.jpg
Julianna Margulies in a custom-made Calvin Klein Collection gown with Marcy Miller drop earrings. This dress is fabulous. She really just gets better and better.

20120130-123320.jpg
Kristen Wiig in a Balenciaga gown and clutch. I adore the simplicity of this gown. It’s a wonderful silhouette for her and the choker is a great touch.

20120130-123510.jpg
Tilda Swinton in a custom-made Lanvin goddess gown and Fred Leighton diamond bracelet. Wow! Usually she goes for a very androgynous look, but this evening she looked like a beautiful woman.

20120130-123722.jpg
Sarah Hyland in a vintage-inspired Temperley gown. She is always adorable, and I love how she stays age-appropriate. It’s going to be fun watching her grow into her womanhood.

20120130-123913.jpg
Octavia Spencer in a Tadashi Shoji gown with Irene Neuwirth jewelry. This dress really looks incredible on her body. It’s so fun to watch her-she’s having the time of her life.

20120130-124103.jpg
Michelle Williams in Valentino with Fred Leighton for Forevermark jewelry. She looks so amazing in red and this is fun yet sophisticated.

20120130-124252.jpg
Kyra Sedgwick in Pucci. She really does get better with age. She looks fabulous, sexy, and very comfortable with herself-something that definitely comes with more life experience.

20120130-124507.jpg
Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli Couture gown with Harry Winston jewelry. She is just such a classic beauty. This color is so rich and elegant.

20120130-124646.jpg
Julie Bowen in Temperley London gown with Martin Katz jewelry and Judith Leiber clutch. This is an interesting choice. At first I didn’t really like it, but it grew on me. She’s taking some risks and you have to give her credit for that.

20120130-124852.jpg
Emily Blunt in Oscar de la Renta with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Swarovski clutch. I love this color on her and the cut is very glamorous.

And now for my favorite-it’s a tie. These two ladies blew me away. They both looked so elegant, so sophisticated and so absolutely stunning, I just can’t decide between them.

20120130-125252.jpg
Rose Byrne in an Elie Saab Couture Jumpsuit. Not many people can pull off a jumpsuit, especially on the red carpet. But paired with Chanel fine jewelry and a Lena Erziak clutch, she made it sparkle and shine. The hair and the makeup really complimented the jumpsuit. Simply fabulous!

20120130-125602.jpg
Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Couture drop-waist gown. They need a new word for how stunningly beautiful this dress is. I could die, it’s that good. The crystal embellishments on the sleeves and the neckline are spectacular. The hair and the makeup are divine. She is gorgeous.

Style Inspiration-Ladies of the Critics Choice Awards

It is truly awards season. I thought I’d choose the talented ladies who graced the carpet at the Critic’s Choice Awards Thursday night as my style inspiration this week. They all looked beautiful, but these ladies really captured that Hollywood glamour I so crave.

20120113-101049.jpg
Elle Fanning in Rodarte. Very appropriate for her age, this young starlet wowed in a yellow print. The loose flowing hair complimented the dress perfectly.

20120113-101215.jpg
Elizabeth Olsen in Emilio Pucci. I’ve always loved Pucci and this dress fits her personality. She is definitely a style setter like her sisters, but is more classic.

20120113-101359.jpg
Diane Kruger. Well, yellow may take over as the “it” color for awards season. Diane always gets it right. From the hair to the accessories, she is total style.

20120113-101521.jpg
Michelle Williams in Chanel. This lady hits it out of the park every time. I like the darker hair. It’s hard to make short hair look fresh, so playing with color is essential.

20120113-101645.jpg
Kirsten Dunst in Dior. This girl can often look a mess, but she really pulled it together for this event. I love the length on her and the hair is great.

20120113-101757.jpg
Charlize Theron. Stunning is the only word that comes to mind. I adore this dress and it’s layers. It fits her like a glove. Minimal accessories lets the dress hold center court.

20120113-101952.jpg
Evan Rachel Wood. This dress has amazing detail. She looks very pretty and grown up. And again, minimal accessories lets the dress do all the talking.

20120113-102209.jpg
Busy Phillips. This is a wonderful cut for her. She looks very glamorous, and the red is a perfect compliment to her coloring.

20120113-102330.jpg
Emma Stone. She is having her year and has moved from teen queen to serious actress flawlessly. She looks stunning in green, knows it, and makes it work for her.

20120113-102527.jpg
Jessica Chastain. As a red head, if you’re not going green, pink is the other choice. I love the style of this dress and it really works for her.

Thank you ladies for proving Hollywood still has glamour and style.

People’s Choice Awards

I tried to watch The People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night, but boy was it tough. In my opinion, it should be called “People Under 25 Choice Awards”. It became very clear the only people voting were the youth of today, they even have an award for the “Hottest Movie Star under 25″. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t there already an award’s show called “Teen Choice Award”?. At about 40 minutes in, I also realized it was a giant advertisement for things like cereal and hair care products. I probably sound like an old geezer, but I thought this was an opportunity to honor those that performed the best. I had never even heard of some of the nominees. But putting aside my disappointment in the actually ceremony, there were some pretty amazing dresses strolling down the red carpet. Here are my favorites.

20120112-114548.jpg
Ginnifer Goodwin. Not only does she star in one of my favorite shows, “Once Upon A Time”, she also is my choice for best dressed. I love the color-perfect contrast with her raven locks-and the bell sleeves are a wonderful feature.

20120112-114753.jpg
Jennifer Morrison. She too stars in “Once Upon A Time”. I love the flapper quality of the dress and the top knot is top notch. Amazing!

20120112-114922.jpg
Kristen Bell. I love that she kept the hair and makeup more natural. The leather and lace in the dress in beautiful in this red color.

20120112-115039.jpg
Kelly Osbourne. I really like this dress. Very simple, yet classy and beautiful. I am digging her “grayish” hair too. Tres Chic!

20120112-115340.jpg
Ellie Kemper. Stunning in this little black dress. It’s nice to see her glammed up.

20120112-115531.jpg
Faith Hill. It’s very clear that red is going to be the award color this year. I love the halter design.

20120112-115636.jpg
Jennifer Lawrence. This girl is going to be huge once “Hunger Games” opens. I like that she went with a futuristic look-keeps in line with the character that is going to make her famous.

20120112-115820.jpg
Vanessa Hudgens. There weren’t many gowns at this event, but she really made it look fresh and glamorous.

Hopefully, the Golden Globes on Sunday offer me more than a teen fest!
